PMI01 - CITY TOUR ( approximate 4 hours ) - 2012
Sightseeing tour of Palma with a photo opportunity at Bellver Castle, an historic Gothic fortress. You will have free time in the Barrio Gótico (Gothic Quarter) with a visit inside the Gothic Cathedral, built in 1230 on the foundations of an ancient mosque. Spanish traditions are kept alive at the “Plaza de Toros” where bullfighting events still take place whilst another Majorcan tradition, the creation of imitation pearls, can be witnessed at the pearl factory next door. Majorca pearls have been made on the island since the XIX century and are renowned worldwide for their quality; only experts can tell them apart from real pearls. PMI02 - DRAGON'S CAVES ( approximate 5 hours ) - 2012
Speleology is the study of caves and all those with a keen interest in geology and natural phenomena will be bowled over by what is one of the world’s most interesting cave complexes created by the erosion of the sea. At 2 km long, the caves feature a series of lakes, including Martel Lake, the biggest underground lake on Earth. The atmospheric mood will be heightened by a memorable concert staged on small boats. Back above ground, we will have time to visit the pearl factory at Manacor before returning to the ship.

PMI05 - VALLDEMOSA ( approximate 4 hours ) - 2011/2012
Leave the port and drive to the typical village of Valldemosa to visit the Cartoixa, an historic XIV century Carthusian monastery. Wander the peaceful cloisters, the monks cells and old pharmacy before continuing to another architectural sight from the same period, King Sancho Palace. In total contrast to the humble monastery, this was built as a winter residence for the kings of Majorca and is an exercise in splendour and opulence ; thus it is surprising to learn that the earliest incarnation of the Palace was a monastery. PMI06 - MOUNTAIN BIKING IN PALMA ( approximate 3,5 hours ) - 2011/2012
Feeling sporty? Looking for a fun and different way to see the sights? Try a guided mountain bike tour of Palma’s main attractions, its surroundings and its beaches. During the 32km ride, you will explore the Bellver Castle on a hill northwest of the city, cycle over narrow forest trails, visit Palma’s best parks and ride along the bay on your way to the port.
Please note: the entire tour is by bicycle and is only recommended for people with good health and fitness. Participants must be at least 12 years of age. We will provide helmets (which are compulsory). English and Spanish speaking guides only. This tour is subject to weather conditions.

If you are happier out on the waves than on land, board a modern catamaran for a trip that takes in the jewels of Palma from the water. We will sail along the coast, with a spectacular view of the old port, passing by the resort of Cala Mayor, the pretty coves around Illetas and the luxury marina of Puerto Portals. PMI08 - PANORAMIC TOUR OF PALMA ( approximate 4 hours ) - 2011/2012
Get under the skin of this Mediterranean city and learn all about the history and culture of beautiful Palma. The capital of the island of Majorca, Palma lies on the open the sea, set along an impressive and sweeping natural bay. We will start the tour with a drive along the Maritime Promenade to Bellver Castle, one of the most important examples of Gothic architecture in Majorca. Bellver, meaning beautiful views, certainly lives up to its name ; built in the XIV century, the castle stands guard over the port, testament to its original purpose as a bastion of defence and a royal residence. After visiting the Castle we will proceed to the Pueblo Español Spanish village an architectural theme park created by renowned architect Fernando Chueca and which holds replicas of noteworthy buildings in Cordoba, Toledo and Madrid. PMI15 - DISCOVER MAJORCA (full day, lunch included) - 2011/2012
Enjoy a day onshore discovering the beauty of Majorca. You will leave the port, heading eastwards to the village of Sant Joan, home of Els Calderers de Sant Joan, a manor typical of the Majorcan plain. See what life was like on the manor 200 years ago, with its farming activities, indigenous animals and assorted workshops. Lunch will be served in Sa Gruta Nova Restaurant. The afternoon continues with a coach transfer to Coves Dels Hams (“Fishhook Caves”), located on the east coast of Majorca near Porto-Cristo. Discovered by Pedro Caldentey in 1905, the caves are famous throughout the world for their exquisitely unique dripstone formations. Admire the numerous lakes inside these natural caves, whose incomparable beauty is only deepened by the electric lighting system installed by Pedro’s son Lorenzo. You will then return to the port, concluding this excursion with a panoramic coach ride around Palma.
