DISCOVER HOW CLOSE LIVORNO IS TO FLORENCE, PISA, AND OTHER MEDITERRANEAN PORTS

From June to September 2018MSC Opera will give you a unique outlook on the Mediterranean. Departing from Livorno, an amazing 8day/7night cruise will take you to the most diverse locations of the northern Mediterranean, giving you a taste of laid-back lifestyles and frantic nightlife, all in one vacation.

Livorno itself has enough history to boast Roman and Moroccan influences in both its architecture and lifestyle. Its old and new fortresses, as well as its Moroccan tower, will take your breath away. Good thing you can than catch it back again in one of its many bars along charming backstreets or sun lit piazzas.

Livorno is also a stone throw away from Florence and Pisa, a unique chance to see the Uffizi art gallery or the world famous leaning tower.

Sailing away from Livorno, the first stop will be in Genoa, a vibrant and eclectic port town with centuries of history and tradition along its waterfront and tiny back streets. From the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo, the Palazzo Ducale, and the Renaissance palaces right up to the ultra-modern Aquarium; a jewel of modern architecture and international landmark.

Marseille is one of France’s most colourful towns. Close enough to Axe-en-Provence to allow you to get immersed in the traditional world of lavender, soaps, nature and stunning views. Marseilles itself, France’s third largest city, offers all the benefits of a metropolitan destination with a glance at shops, bars, restaurants, museums and monuments that are unique to this area.

Palma de Mallorca and Ibiza are two islands that are close geographically but at extremes in what they offer. The first is tranquil and adorned by one of the most impressive Cathedrals overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. The second will welcome you to its sunset locations and bustling nightlife. But both can boast lovely waterfront bars, restaurant and fun filled beaches.

Last but by no means least, Olbia on Sardinia’s Emerald Coast. Excursions to the islands of Maddalena and Caprera are highly recommended, not to forget the neighbouring jet-set port of Porto Cervo. But even without leaving Olbia itself, you will be able to enjoy some first-class museums, numerous bars and restaurants, all usually abuzz with tourists.

All this while on board one of our ships recently renewed through our Renaissance program, MSC Opera. All the comfort and relaxation of a four star hotel and an exclusive holiday resort in one, with the benefit of waking up in a new vacation destination every day.
