Getting Onboard

Embarkation begins at the check-in time shown on the cruise ticket. Check-in closes 2 hours before the ship departure time. As a precaution, you and your luggage may be searched and any items that the Company considers a safety and security risk (such as guns, knives, scissors, irons, kettles, open flame candles, alcohol or food) will be confiscated and not returned. Firearms will not be accepted on board and immediate disembarkation will be required.
At the terminal:
  1. Leave your luggage

    Attach the luggage tag found in your Cruise ticket and leave your luggage in the dedicated area: it will be delivered to your cabin. Make sure not to pack any dangerous item, please check the full list in the Luggage section of the app.

  2. Embarkation form

    Show your embarkation form on the cruise ticket or through the MSC for ME app and your ID document to the staff. Collect your cruise card and your MSC for Me wristbands*.


    * Included for Aurea, Wellness and MSC Yacht Club experiences. On payment for Bella and Fantastica Guests (5 Euros).

  3. Security control

    Proceed to the security control. Security Guards will search your hand luggage and confiscate any articles that could represent a safety or security risk. Keep your embarkation form and ID document in hand to board the ship. You will not be allowed on board without it.

  4. Embarkation

    Board the ship and have your security picture taken if you haven’t already done it through the MSC for Me app or the web check-in. You can embark from the check-in time on your ticket until 2 hours before departure.

  5. Payment on board

    Within 48h register your credit/debit card at one of the cruise card activation points or leave a cash deposit at the Reception - Guest Service.

  6. Welcome aboard!

    • If your cabin is not ready, take your time to explore the ship and enjoy the welcome buffet 

    For families with kids: please go to the Family embarkation desk to the receive important information, the mandatory safety MSC for Me kids wristband and discover the Kids Locator service. 

    • Later on embarkation day, attend the mandatory safety drill.
