MSC CRUISES EXTENDS FLEET-WIDE HALTING
OF OPERATIONS THROUGH TO 29 MAY
Geneva, Switzerland, 30 March 2020 - MSC Cruises has decided to further extend the halting of all its new cruise departures fleet-wide through to 29 May, in light of the continued extraordinary circumstances the world is facing in connection with the Covid-19 virus global health emergency.
The Company previously announced the temporary halting of all its ships globally through to 30 April. As governments across the globe have since further strengthened ashore public health and safety measures to protect local populations and contain the further spread of the virus, today’s decision by MSC Cruises to further extend this extraordinary measure aims to mirror and further support the effectiveness of such efforts.
MSC Cruises is working tirelessly with all guests and their travel agents to address the impact of this necessary decision to their bookings on our ships up to 29 May and it is genuinely sorry for the inconvenience that this will cause them. By announcing this now, the Company intends to provide travel agents and guests who are booked on affected sailings with as much time as possible to move their booking to a future cruise.
For the cruises we are forced to cancel from March 10th to May 29th we will offer our guests 125% Future Cruise Credit.
The Future Cruise Credit must be redeemed by 31st July 2020 and is valid for all sailings taking place on or before 31st December 2021. If the Future Cruise Credit is not used by 31st July 2020, guests are entitled to a refund equal to the original amount of the cruise fare paid. Please note refunds will be processed from the 31st July 2020 at the earliest.
All affected guests will receive a communication directly from MSC Cruises or through their Travel Agent giving further details regarding their Future Cruise Credit and how to redeem it imminently. For further queries please contact operationsuk@msccruises.co.uk.
