Monaco, an independent sovereign state ruled by a royal family since the 13th century, has some sights not to be missed. The Prince's Palace, with its 15th century frescoes and opulent 18th century salons, the Oceanographic Museum and one of the most impressive Aquariums in Europe are also places to visit.
Among the symbols of Nice, the Promenade des Anglais is the most popular between tourists and residents who love to stroll along this seafront avenue. Another must-see is the old town, where old buildings, pastel-coloured squares and historical monuments stand side by side. The Palais de Justice, a former 19th century colonnaded manor house, the Sainte-Réparate cathedral, the Orthodox cathedral of Saint Nicolas and the Saint-Jacques, Pénitents-Noirs Chapelle and Saint Augustin churches are all worth a visit.
Situated on the Provencal coast, the pretty medieval village of Eze is entirely pedestrian and seduces you with its' authenticity.
